8"The Lord the LORD has sworn by his vital life force," declares the LORD God of Hosts: "I abhor the hubris of Jacob and his palace complexes; I have hated it, and I will deliver up the city and its fullness."9And it will be that if ten men are left in one house, they will die.10And his uncle and his burner will carry him out to bring out bones from the house, and he will say to the man in the corner of the house, "Is there yet anyone with you?" And he will say, "None." And he will say, "Hush, for we must not mention the name of the LORD."11For behold, the LORD commands, and he will strike the great house with breaches, and the small house with rents.12Will horses run on the rocks? Will he plow barley-crops? For you have turned justice to wormwood and righteousness to wormwood.13You who rejoice over nothing, who say, "Have we not taken horns for ourselves by our strength?"14For behold, I am raising up against you, O house of Israel—the utterance of the LORD God of Hosts—a nation, and they will oppress you from the entrance of Hamath to the wadi of the Plains of Moab.
